What would you like to see more of?

I know my posts have been a little all over the place lately (all this passion and only one blog aah). So I was wondering, which types of posts do you prefer? And are there any that you would like for me to start writing?

And also which of these do you think I should try (I mean, if any haha)?

Three of the day #8

It literally feels like forever since I`ve posted a “three of the day”, and I`m not sure why, since I really love writing them. I guess maybe at some point I felt that it was ridiculous for me to give others advice when my life is 100 % not together. But my new philosophy is that anyone, literally anyone, has something to offer and can be at least a small kind of guru. And even if you find what I`m writing pointless and unhelpful, I at least hope that you can pick up some positive vibes from it. I personally place vibes very highly, whether it comes to people, movies, artwork or places. Even when I write poems or speeches, I always just go with my instincts and try to follow a certain vibe. I definitely feel like humans haven`t lost the instincts that we see in the animal world, we`ve just stopped listening to it, and I think vibes is an undergroup of this. Like bad vibes to protect you from people you should avoid, positive vibes to give you energy to go about life`s boring or difficult tasks and a sense of purpose, and of course a general feel of all kinds of vibes to create beauty in art, fashion, words and everyday life. Sorry for that painfully long intro, but alas here are “three of the day”.

Advice of the day:

You know how where always advised to not put on too warm clothes in fall and beginning of winter, because when the real cold kicks in, we won`t be able to take are warmth game up that necessary notch to keep us from being in cold wind hell? No? Well, at least we get that tip here in Norway. And it is totally smart! Well, I personally feel like this tip is transferable to Christmas. Christmas is just pure fun, right? So therefore it is super easy to just dive right in. Listening to every Christmas song imaginable, gorging yourself in marzipan, Christmas tree shaped chocolate and holiday specials from Disney. The thing is though, that if you go full blown anti-Grinch from December first, then I almost guarantee that the real Christmas will not feel as special as it could have been, and it will actually be pretty anti-climactic (aka one of the worst feelings ever). However, I also believe in building the Christmas spirit. I mean, from the 22nd it is basically Christmas, and I will refuse to watch any movie without at least one Christmas tree or snow globe. And of course December is the Christmas month. But just take it slow. Instead of watching five Christmas movies every Saturday and Sunday, watch like two a week. Of course I`m not going to give you a detailed plan on how to do Christmas (I`m a narcissist, not a self proclaimed dictator), I just hope that you can “take it slow and let the good times roll”. (Sorry, die hard American Pie fan over here).

Pretty much sums it up for my part!

Fashion tip of the day:

Oversized sweaters! In particular oversized knitted sweaters. It`s winter, which means it is about time to break out those comfortable and warm, yet also super stylish (at least for the most part) giant sweaters! I mean, if warm, big, super cute clothes are wrong, than I don’t wanna be right. Just don’t ever pair it with big, flowy pants or a long, wide skirt. I will die and come back to haunt you. It would be horrible to make any fashion mistakes with this type of piece when there are literally so many different ways to wear it, and so few ways to mess up. Variations include (but are definitely not limited to): pairing it with jeans, leggings, skirt with tights, shorts with tights, tall boots, ankle boots, flats, sneakers, big statement jewelry, with belt (incredible must try), no belt. Note: If you are the one to pull it off, shorts with thin tights (pantyhose) and knee highs or legwarmers is basically mandatory due to unexplained awesomeness and incredible aesthetics.

So that concludes the “Three of The Day” for today. Vibe: Winter, Christmas and exploration.

The three most important guidelines for toning up, while avoiding bulk

So I am currently on a journey towards a more toned body and a smaller frame. This means I am doing a lot of exercise. But since my goal with this is to become a model, lately I have gotten very paranoid of gaining to much muscle. Particularly getting big calves and bulky quadriceps. I know that this is a much wanted looks in many sports and dances, and I personally think that it`s a very good look, especially paired with sculpted abs. However, it is not suitable for the type of modeling that I wish to pursue. So lately I have been doing a lot of research on this, which I am very glad for, because there were a few exercises I were engaging in that most likely would have led to the look I am trying to avoid. So here are the few guidelines or rules that I have found to be the most important.hhh

First off, when doing strength training, do moves where the muscles are elongated (stretched out), while you to them. Apparently, this will produce long, lean muscles. This sounds like a myth, but considering that a lot of ballerinas training consist of these types of moves, it must be true. After all, no one is skinnier or more in shape than the ballerinas.

Secondly, small movements. Generally, higher reps and lower intensity is the way to go. This means, no higher than 70 percent of your maximum on weights, and for no equipment training, don’t do squats and pushup, at least not mainly. Most of your workout should consist of small movements with high repetition (and elongated loins).

Lastly, for cardio, focus on long distance. For example, in stead of sprinting, do marathon like training and instead of half an hour on the highest elliptical level (my biggest calf-enlarging mistake), opt for 2 hours on little-to no resistance. And try to limit incline on the treadmill and number off hikes. Same goes for swimming. Yes, swimming burns an incredible amount of calories, but that’s because the muscles are working super hard, and therefore expanding in the long run.

Note: As I said, this is just to get or maintain a certain body type and may not apply to your goals at all, which is totally fine. All body types are awesome and require different exercise strategies. I also just want to stress the fact that you`re definitely not going to get super bulky and muscular from swimming, hiking or doing any other type of exercise once a month or even twice a month.

Three of the day #7

So, as you now know I am currently petsitting in an interestingly boring suburb. So as there is nothing going on in my life at the moment other than periodically walking a dog and waiting up for one cat and feeding the shy one, I found it difficult to find inspiration for my post. Luckily, I managed to find something. So here we go.
Advice of the day:

Most of us have summer vacation and the weather gods have been pretty generous this year and blessed us with several of sunny days. Although that might actually be global warming now that I think of it. Either way I would say we all have plenty of beach days and sunbathing ahead of us this year. Therefore, my tip is as simple as this, focus less on the summer and more on the vacation in summer vacation for a day. Doing things is obviously super fun, but taking it slow, that really energizes you and thats what we talk about doing every weekend but never get to do because of homework, tests and papers. So watch that show on Netflix, read that book or have a Star Wars nerd-athon. And most important of all, do not feel guilty! No law says you have to spend every sunny day outside (unless you live in Maine or the UK, than you make the sunny days your bitch). Just relax 🙂

Motovation of the day:

This is going to be short, because as I said, I do not really have the opportunity to find anything groundbreaking here. But here goes. I want to tell you all about a miracle. A miracle that occured yesterday. I was bored out of my mind and end up eating, alot. Among other things a baguette with nutspread and an ENTIRE pack of oreos. But you know what, I did’nt die and I did not gain weight. So I guess it’s true what they say, fortune favours the bold. So obviously my point isn’t that you should go out and eat a bunch of stuff. But I am saying that you should do what you want and not be afraid to take chances or feel dumb. If my stomach can survive, then so can you.

Fashion tip of the day:

Speaking of bold, I am madly in love with all the bold lipcolors going around. Lipsticks, lipglsosses and lipstains. All equally amazing in bright, flashy, yet classy, colors. And lets not forget about the 2016 stapple, lipliner. But seriosly, I just bought a red lipstain and I love it! I’m totally buing at least one pink one when I get back home. Lips are so important, so lets make ’em pop!
That would be all, have a great weekend!

Decisions, decisions

So, my moms birthday was about a week ago, but I never got time to get her a present. Today however, is finally my day off, which means that I know do have time. But this leaves me with to decisions to make. First off all, what should I get her? Secondly, should I bring it buy her office or just have it wait for her at home? Also, it’s sort of a rainy day today, so I am trying to decide between going home after and cozying up with a good book or go to the library to get some studying done. Sorry for the boring text and all the questions. I would really appreciate your opinions.

So first off all, what should I get my mother. She likes flowers, but she also likes, ya know, stuff. So I am between a bouquet and a purse. Maybe both. Hmm. And please et me know if you have a better idea!

Thanks guys!

Three of the day! #6

Advice of the day:

In anticipation of something, like a summer break, one might get a little tense. You feel like the summer is here, yet you still have work to do. It`s like being stuck in the limbo of school and work. So I guess my advice, is to make sure you get enough rest. It might be tempting to stay up all night when you know that you are not having any tests in the near future, and I`d know, as I did this just a couple nights ago. But what’s easy to forget is that you still have to get up early the next morning. And trust me, listening to whatever fake lectures your school has made up this year, while nearly falling asleep for 8 hours, is not fun and not worth it. So yeah, instead of spending all that extra time on your hands on Netflix, spend it on resting and taking care of yourself. Trust me; you will have lots of time to watch Netflix later on.

Motivation of the day:

Growing up, three out of four of my aunts smoked. I guess I did not really have a grasp on how tight an addiction can hold you at that time, because I kept telling them again and again to stop. I just did not want anything to happen to them. Now, this isn’t going to be a fairytale story about how all of my aunts joined some amazing club and quit smoking forever. I am however going to share with you that a couple of years back my oldest aunt, who is know 56, quit smoking! After being at it for years and years she managed to quit, all by herself. And I think that is kind of beautiful. And I most certainly find it motivational. If a woman over halfway in her life can change something that fundamental, than we most certainly can to. And guess what? For once, we actually have time for it to. So whether you want to change something, like stop smoking or buy less stuff online (me!), or you want to do something, like finally finish knitting that sweater or write a book, you now can. You have the time, and I know you have the ability!

Fashion tip of the day:

Earlier today I put on an outfit consisting of a cape, a crop top and a skirt. As it turned out, it was not just cold in the morning as I figured since it happens a lot here. It was raining, and was supposed to be all day. So I decided not to wear the skirt. This is where having pants the same length up the stomach came in handy. So my tip is to either have outfits that you can easily change the temperature of, like by wearing a cardigan or cape over a top, or have outfits to choose from that will work with either pants or a skirt. This usually goes for tighter or shorter tops. Or both haha. Anyways, that was my little, probably to obvious, tip for today. And here’s a bad picture I took of my outfit in pants 🙂

Three of the day! #5

Summer is in the air, literally, and it is only appropriate that I have my little tips and tricks written accordingly for today’s three of the day. I will go over what to do for those insanely hot days, and what to do for the cold summer nights that we all know too well. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do about the mosquitoes. So, in the undying word of Steve Stifler “just take it slow, and let the good times roll”

Advice of the day

Prepare for summer. Write all of your lists. Your to do lists, your bucket list for the summer and your shopping list. Organize, but also leave A LOT of room for just being spontaneous. But don’t end your preparations there.  Decide what popsicles or poptails to make. Buy your swimwear. Find what Netflix shows you are going to binge watch. Because let us be honest here. No matter how much you love the sun and how many plans you have, you will spend hours under the blanket watching Netflix. So why not have a plan? Right? Plan to have fun. And remember, plan to relax.

Motivation of the day

You did it. No matter if you just finished a semester or another year of work or self-care, you did it. Now you can finally relax and just give yourself a pat on the shoulder, because you my friend, are a motherfucking champion. Every year we stress and stress and stress. We write papers, take customer complaints, try to stay healthy, do our personal projects and take care of our houses, families and to some degree our selves. But now is the time to look at the back of that list. I know that most of us, and me especially, work more on accomplishing than just being and relaxing. So know is the time to put all your competitiveness to the side and just relax.

Fashion tip of the day

The summer has this annoying tendency to be a little too hot in the day and a little bit to cold in the night. How do we solve this unfair #struggle? Ponchoes and capes of course. No, I am not talking about the horrible circus tent Betty wore in the pilot Ugly Betty. I`m talking about the Wilhelmina worthy capes you find these days and that I`ve personally acquired a couple of myself this year. You can get them in any color or shape. And also any material. So we have the chill, over bikini ponchos and the keep-warm-while-looking-stylish capes. Here are a couple examples.  The first of which I have myself.
