Three of the Day #10

Firstly I`d just like to say thank you so much for for helping me finally reach 100 WP followers! I am so grateful for each and every one of you. So now, to further spread the love, I am going to give you something back. My three of the day tips. Hopefully I can make your day a little better to. (Although it`d be near impossible for me to do as much for you as you have done for me). So, let`s go!

Advice of the day:

Get organized. I know that for a lot of us, exam time is coming up. Which is daunting enough, but don`t add the pressure of not being prepared. Of course not everyone now which classes they are getting examined in, but either way you should just make an overview of what classes you have and what you know best in each and what you don`t have completely under control. That way, when studying time comes around, you already know where to start and what to focus on. Gives you a little less to do in that stressful period and gives you something to do to avoid studying today. Win-Win! And f0r those of you who don`t go to school, don`t worry, i haven`t forgotten about you! We could all use some structure and direction in our lives. What you should do is sit down with a nice cup of tea and your favorite or new notebook and reflect on your life. Think in the lines of “where am I, and where do I want to be” also “what can I do today to create a better tomorrow for myself”.

Motivation of the day:

Okay, I personally hate the sun. I know, I know, it`s weird. But I do. However, this post is not about me. It`s about you. So since I am annoyingly aware of the sun lately, that`s what I`m going to remind you of to motivate you. The sun is shining, it`s getting warmer and everyday we get closer to summer vacation, lazy days at the beach and (my personal favorite) light summer dresses and wavy hair! We just have to make it through this season of flaky weather and pollen allergy. Which is a season that most people view as pretty beautiful and happy anyways. Birds chirping an flowers blossoming. I ain`t really all that bad guys! (though the exams are terrible)

Fashion tip of the day:

The statement belt. Soon summer will come around and we`ll all be wearing dresses with slim or no belts. Take this opportunity to dress up your winter clothes with a good, strong belt. Like one of these (click to be directed to site).

So I probably should have posted this on March eight, but I guess it`s never a wrong time to throw a little feminism in people’s faces. So here is a lighthearted poem I have written and the treatment of women in society in the impossible standards we are held to. Don`t worry, it`s short and chill.

MOTD/New Liquid Lipstick- I`m in love

As you know, a few days back I ordered some new make-up from my beloved “makeupmekka”. I was especially excited for the liquid lipstick (or super matte lipcream as they call it). And alas I have had the chance to try it out. Here is how it looks!

PS: The lighting here is terrible, so it was really hard to get pictures without a major glare and for some reason the colors are different from my phone to the computer, so don`t hate.

The color is darker and more purple irl, but as you can see the lipstick is super matte and not to chappy at all. I for one am 100 % here for it and will probably order more variations. This one was the “Hangover” color.

Book of the bi-month/Zoë`s book club

I`ve noticed that many of my readers are into literature and the written forms of art. Since this is also a really big part of my own personality and I love reading books, I thought it would be pretty cool to choose a new book every fourteen days to read and review (in a non-boring, non-high school curriculum sort of way). Hopefully others will also join in on the discussion. And who knows, maybe this will finally be the year where we cross of all those to-read books of our lists?

For my first book I`m thinking either “Sophie’s Choice” by William Styron or “Slaughterhouse 5” by Kurt Vonnegut.

The ultimate breakfast food: Coffee Smoothie

 

At the moment I am so tired, it`s basically a cosmic injustice. I am also so parched and in the want for something refreshing. This is putting me in a one-track mindset. Coffee smoothie! The ultimate restauration and coffee food, total double trouble. Unfortunately I can`t have it, as the only bananas I have are frozen, but I am going to share the recipe with you. Hopefully, one of you will make it so I can live through you. Haha.

Anyways. I love sharing these kinds of things, since I know that a lot of people don`t really know what vegans eat and are kind of curious as to how filling and good the food is. So I thought that instead of just giving you a recipe, which I am going to do, I`ll also let you know some of the benefits of this smoothie. But first, here`s the recipe!

General and health based benefits:

 

Coffee:

  • makes you awake and ready for the day
  • full of antioxidants
  • boosts metabolisme (3-11%)
  • lowers risk of diabetes

Bananas:

  • slow releasing energy
  • good for rebalencing electrolytes
  • great pre workout food
  • lots of fiber
  • makes the smoothie booth sweet and extra nutricious

Oats:

  • one of the most nutrient-dense foods avaible
  • can lower cholesterole and stabilize blood sugar levels
  • rich in antioxidants
  • makes you feel heathy as f**k

Chia:

  • full of antioxidants
  • lots of protein for a plant
  • almost all the carbs are fiber
  • high in omega-3 (higher levesls than salmon even)
  • good for your bones
  • easy to incorprate in you diet (have it as a pudding, or just throw it in there with literally anything
